We are so excited to be hosting a bouquet making workshop on the farm!  April is a really beautiful and diverse month in the flower field.  It’s known as “spike season” as some of the best spike-y flowers are in bloom: stock, snapdragons, delphinium, larkspur, etc which creates a fun challenge for bouquet making.  I expect that we’ll be working with beautiful pastel colored flowers, that the weather will be divine and the ephemeral spring wildflowers will be popping up in the surrounding landscape.

The workshop includes:

  • An in-depth tour hosted by Sam and Dan.  The tour will focus on our sustainability efforts, our vision for the future, an overview of the floral industry (as a whole), and much more! Plenty of time will be allotted for questions.
  • Snacks! Herbal iced tea/water and some light snacks.
  • Sam will lead attendees through her process of creating her “farmer’s bouquets.”  This class is not focusing on arranging in a vase (no vases provided) but rather how to make beautiful hand held bouquets using seasonal flowers!  All materials will be provided.
  • Flowers! You’ll be working with enough flowers to make either one large bouquet, or two smaller ones.
  • Open farm time until 2 pm.  Feel free to bring a picnic and a blanket if you’d like to stay on the farm after the workshop ends.

Date: Saturday, 4/29 (we will refund your money if it rains, but we will not reschedule)

Time: 10 am until 12:30 pm, plan to arrive by 9:45ish

Where: 9112 Thaxton Rd Austin, TX 78747

Wear: you MUST wear closed toed shoes, absolutely no exceptions. Thank you for understanding!
